Mona lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Medina General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500. Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment Mona could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $500 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $125 • First-year servicing plan: $180 • Fitting and training sessions: $195 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
