Independence for Miguel: powered wheelchair
Miguel needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $150.
🇨🇴 Bogotá, Bogotá D.C., Colombia629 views
Miguel lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Bogotá Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Miguel could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $150 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
• First-year servicing plan: $55
Thanks for reading all this.

Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
