Independence for Maverick: cochlear implant processor upgrade
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Maverick independence - we're $7,850 away.

I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Albany Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,850.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $7,850 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $7,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $190
• Delivery and set-up: $55
• First-year servicing plan: $355
Glad we found this place.
