Independence for Marta: communication tablet with eye tracking
Marta needs a communication tablet with eye tracking that the health system will not fund; the cost is $2,250.
🇲🇽 Mexico4,022 views
Marta lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at the Coyoacán Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,250.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Marta could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• communication tablet with eye tracking: $2,050
• Fitting and training sessions: $100
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $70
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
