I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Pune General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $450 goes: • prosthetic leg: $380 • Fitting and training sessions: $25 • Delivery and set-up: $15 • First-year servicing plan: $30 Glad we found this place.

  • Wishing you the best, Mangesh. Hope you get there. Thinking of Pune

    • You're not alone, Mangesh. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Nakuru

      • Keep going, Mangesh. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
