Independence for Madhu: prosthetic leg
Madhu needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $600.

I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the St. Petersburg Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $65
• Fitting and training sessions: $250
• First-year servicing plan: $285
With deep gratitude,
Madhu
