Luiz lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Guarulhos Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150. His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Luiz could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $150 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $75 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Francisca

  • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Riverside.

    • You're not alone, Francisca. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. Take care.

Good luck, Francisca. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Put this on a community board in Jakarta Selatan this morning. All the best
