Independence for Lorena: prosthetic leg
Lorena needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $200.
🇲🇽 San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, Mexico1,143 views
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at San Nicolás de los Garza General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $200.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $200 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $100
I hope life is good to you.

so sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Jessore but we're thinking of you. Love from Jessore.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Love from El Paso.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of San Nicolás de los Garza.
best of luck, Lorena. Hope this works out for you. Blessings
Wishing Lorena a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Take care.
