Independence for Liam: powered wheelchair
Help Liam get a powered wheelchair so He can join the school sports day.
🇺🇸 United States258 views
Liam lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Bakersfield Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $10,400.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Liam could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $10,400 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $9,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $210
• Delivery and set-up: $155
• First-year servicing plan: $285
