Nnewi
Lanre lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Nnewi General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $950. His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Lanre could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $950 goes: • prosthetic leg: $870 • Fitting and training sessions: $40 • Delivery and set-up: $10 • First-year servicing plan: $30 Glad we found this place.
