Independence for Lakshmi: braille note-taker
Lakshmi needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $600.
🇮🇳 Hubballi, Karnataka, India181 views
Lakshmi lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at Hubballi General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600.
Her current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Lakshmi could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $600 goes:
• braille note-taker: $540
• Fitting and training sessions: $20
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $25
Thank you so much.
