Independence for Kai: stair-climbing aid
Kai needs a stair-climbing aid that the health system won't fund; the cost is $9,750.

Kai lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Austin Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $9,750.
His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Kai could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $9,750 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $9,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $380
• Delivery and set-up: $120
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
