Kagiso lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Cape Town Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,750.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Kagiso could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $25

• First-year servicing plan: $75

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kagiso.
Sure. The biggest one is fitting and training sessions, $25. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
