Independence for Jocelyn: cochlear implant processor upgrade
Jocelyn needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system will not fund; the cost is $1,250.

I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Makati Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250.
My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $45
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $1,200
• Delivery and set-up: $5
Thanks for being kind about this.
Updates from Jocelyn
Update from Makati: the plan for first-year servicing plan is now scheduled. We're at 4% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you all. We're at 2% now ($25). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.

Praying for you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!
Wishing you peace, Jocelyn. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Thinking of you and your family, Jocelyn. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Bronx donated after I showed her your page. God bless
