Independence for İsmail: specialist standing frame

A specialist standing frame would give İsmail independence - we're $700 away.

İsmail lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the İzmir Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700. His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment İsmail could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $700 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $80 • specialist standing frame: $570 • First-year servicing plan: $50 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

        • Wishing you peace, Fatma. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Fort Portal!
