I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Nairobi General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400. My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $400 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $45 • pair of hearing aids: $300 • Fitting and training sessions: $55 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Imani.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. first-year servicing plan comes first ($45) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
