I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at Athens General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,400. My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $3,400 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $125 • Fitting and training sessions: $190 • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $3,085 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Georgios

  2. Quick update: $250 raised so far (7%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. We're at 6% thanks to 1 of you. I made the first payment toward first-year servicing plan. More news soon.

  • Hope it all works out, Georgios. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.
