Independence for Gabriel: powered wheelchair
A powered wheelchair would give Gabriel independence - we're $6,700 away.
🇺🇸 Texas, United States450 views
Gabriel lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at the Houston Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,700.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Gabriel could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $6,700 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $6,000
• Fitting and training sessions: $125
• Delivery and set-up: $220
• First-year servicing plan: $355
With deep gratitude,
Eduardo
