Independence for Festus: communication tablet with eye tracking
Help Festus get a communication tablet with eye tracking so He can speak with the people around him.
Anywhere in the world656 views
Festus lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Lagos Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $350.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Festus could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $350 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $25
• communication tablet with eye tracking: $280
• Fitting and training sessions: $45

Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Chattanooga
Sending strength. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

Thinking of you, Bello. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. God bless.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Festus?
Thank you. If you're in Lagos I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Fair thing to want to know.
