Emiliano lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at Huntsville General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,150.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Emiliano could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $5,150 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $155
• prosthetic leg: $4,900
• Delivery and set-up: $95
