Independence for Edgardo: powered wheelchair
Edgardo needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,000.

I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at Manila General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $860
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $40
• First-year servicing plan: $50
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
