Independence for Cláudia: cochlear implant processor upgrade
Help Cláudia get a cochlear implant processor upgrade so She can go to school independently.
🇧🇷 Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil1,011 views
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Duque de Caxias General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $150 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $70
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $30
Thank you for reading my story.
