Independence for Brian: powered wheelchair

A powered wheelchair would give Brian independence - we're $8,550 away.

Brian lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at San Antonio General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $8,550. His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Brian could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $8,550 goes: • powered wheelchair: $8,250 • Delivery and set-up: $60 • First-year servicing plan: $240 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Mackenzie
