Independence for Anthony: powered wheelchair
Anthony needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $6,750.

I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Townsville Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,750.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $6,750 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $6,250
• Fitting and training sessions: $140
• Delivery and set-up: $160
• First-year servicing plan: $200
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
- Anthony

So sorry you're going through this. Wishing Anthony a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best.
you're not alone, Anthony. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Caruaru this morning. Take care
