Alka needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $750.

Alka lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the San Francisco Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Alka could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.

• First-year servicing plan: $300
• Delivery and set-up: $80
