Alexander lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Manchester Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,500. His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks. With the right equipment Alexander could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $3,500 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $145 • braille note-taker: $3,200 • Fitting and training sessions: $155 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
