Independence for Akua: communication tablet with eye tracking
A communication tablet with eye tracking would give Akua independence - we're $55 away.
🇬🇭 Takoradi, Western, Ghana274 views
Akua lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Takoradi Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $55.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Akua could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $55 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $35
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• Fitting and training sessions: $5

Sending love, Dennis. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best
What exactly is the $55 for?
Wishing Akua a smooth procedure and a full recovery. All the best
Hope things get better soon, Dennis. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
good luck, Dennis. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings
