Indah was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Jakarta University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,300, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my mother has been in and out of Jakarta University Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Indah struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Indah won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
