Ibadan
Ife lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at the Ibadan Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550. Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Ife could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $550 goes: • communication tablet with eye tracking: $410 • Fitting and training sessions: $60 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $55 Thank you for reading my story. - Nnamdi
