I'm caring for my mother, who's 74. After a fall and hip fracture Idowu can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Idowu desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Idowu worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $650 goes: • Part-time carer (three months): $480 • Medication and prescriptions: $70 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Chioma

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($141 in total) I made the first payment toward medication and prescriptions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($66). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.

  3. Update from Abuja: I made the first payment toward part-time carer. We're at 2% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
