Ice storm in Toronto: help the Greenfield settlement rebuild
After the ice storm, families in the Greenfield settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The ice storm hit the Greenfield settlement on 22 May. My home was one of 57 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $5,100 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,550
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $650
• Tools and labor for repairs: $900
Thank you so much.

sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Maringá.
Sending love, Sylvie. More neighborhoods should do this.
