Zagazig
In August I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My oncology team at Zagazig Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in December. I was told to expect about 8 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 50, I worked as a tailor until August, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Zagazig Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,100 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $790 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $130 • Transport to Zagazig Regional Medical Center: $180 Thank you for reading my story. - Ibrahim

Updates from Ibrahim

  1. Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($34). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward transport to Zagazig Regional Medical Center.

  2. Update from Zagazig: the plan for chemotherapy and medication not covered is now scheduled. We're at 8% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Quick update: $84 raised so far (8%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
