Hyun-jun can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Hyun-jun regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇰🇷 Gyeonggi, South Korea1,115 views
Hyun-jun has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Hyun-jun can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Hyun-jun's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Seongnam
- skills
- carpentry, measuring, power tools

Thinking of you and your family, Young-ho. Looking forward to the next update. After 30 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
