In April an inspector told me that my home has a leaking gas line. It's a safety risk for me and my newborn. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $540 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed HVAC technician who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $60. The job should take about three hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a HVAC technician and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you for reading my story.

So sorry you're going through this, Ruan. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

Thinking of you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Pietermaritzburg.
