Hugo's stomach cancer treatment fund
Hugo is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Hugo was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January. The oncology team at San Diego University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Hugo is 33, worked as a nurse until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,150
• Transport to San Diego University Hospital: $1,350
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $400
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,300
