Hudson's prostate cancer treatment fund
Hudson is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In May I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Vancouver Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 8 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 37, I worked as a farmer until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Vancouver Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,800 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000
• Scans and lab work: $1,650
• Transport to Vancouver Cancer Centre: $770
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $630
• Household costs while unable to work: $750
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Joliet
