Howrah cyclone relief - the Marketplace neighborhood
Neighbors in the Marketplace neighborhood are rebuilding after the cyclone; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The cyclone hit the Marketplace neighborhood on 10 September. My home was one of 61 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $550 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $165
• Clean water and purification supplies: $150
• Food parcels for displaced families: $235
Thank you for reading my story.

Praying for you, Devi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
praying for you. This could happen to any of us. Please keep us posted. Thinking of Howrah
