House fire that spread across the block in Saket: help the Hillcrest settlement rebuild
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in the Hillcrest settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Hillcrest settlement on 6 November. My home was one of 73 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $170
• Roofing sheets and timber: $660
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
I hope life is good to you.

Thank you all. We're at 11% now ($108). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Saket.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 17 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
