House fire that spread across the block in Nsukka: help the Greenfield neighborhood rebuild
Neighbors in the Greenfield neighborhood are rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Greenfield neighborhood on 9 August. My home was one of 70 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $900 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $590
• Tools and labor for repairs: $150
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $160
Thank you for reading my story.

Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
Hang in there, Tunde. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I'll check back for the next update
Stay strong, Tunde. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Nsukka.
