House fire that spread across the block in Kano: help Old Town village rebuild
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in Old Town village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit Old Town village on 23 January. My home was one of 45 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $230
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $210
• Food parcels for displaced families: $165
• Roofing sheets and timber: $445
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Sending good thoughts, Nonso. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
