House fire that spread across the block in Grand Rapids: help the families of Greenfield Lane rebuild
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in the families of Greenfield Lane need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the families of Greenfield Lane on 25 February. My home was one of 62 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,200
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $770
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,980
Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck, Juan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
Rooting for you, Juan. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
You're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Uberlândia.
Hope it all works out, Juan. More neighborhoods should do this. Greetings from Narayanganj
