House fire that spread across the block in Dundee: help Eastgate village rebuild
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in Eastgate village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇬🇧 Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom3,390 views
The house fire that spread across the block hit Eastgate village on 20 August. My home was one of 68 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,650 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,150
• Clean water and purification supplies: $770
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $910
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,820
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 21 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from San Diego.
Wishing you peace, Jaxon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best.
Rooting for you. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 37 people at work.
projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Toronto this morning.
Sending strength. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Phoenix donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Dundee.
Hope things get better soon. More neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in San Diego donated after I showed her your page
