My son Josiah has been accepted for treatment at the Nottingham Cancer Centre in Nottingham, starting on Saturday in October. We live 358 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 4 weeks. Two of us would stay: Josiah and me. We can contribute $100 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Josiah will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Best of luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless

    • Keep going. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.

      • Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 27 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care

        • Thinking of you and your family, Sophie. Your post was clear and honest. I'll check back for the next update. All the best

          • Thanks for sharing this. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
