Hossain was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in August. The surgeon at Dhaka University Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,100, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,050 short. my son has been in and out of Dhaka University Hospital since August. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,100 is more than we can find. While we wait, Hossain struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Hossain won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
