Home care fund for Walker in Manchester

Help Walker stay in his own home with four months of part-time care.

I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After a heart attack Walker can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Walker desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Walker worked all of his life as a seamstress, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $1,250 goes: • Medication and prescriptions: $460 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $510 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $280 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Valentina

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 12% funded and the plan for medication and prescriptions is now scheduled.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($69 in total) I made the first payment toward medication and prescriptions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $66 so far, the plan for hospital bed and mattress rental is now scheduled.
