I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After a diagnosis of dementia Reza can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Reza desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Reza worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $600 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Part-time carer (six months): $430
• Medication and prescriptions: $140

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Reza.
Sure. The biggest one is hospital bed and mattress rental, $30. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
