Home care fund for Lourdes in Spokane
Lourdes, 86, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $4,700 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 86. After a stroke last July Lourdes can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Lourdes desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Lourdes worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $4,700 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $370
• Part-time carer (four months): $3,850
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $480
