I'm caring for me, who's 81. After the death of her spouse Liliana can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Liliana desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Liliana worked all of her life as a seamstress, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $3,100
• Medication and prescriptions: $670
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $340
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $540
