I'm caring for me, who's 91. After a diagnosis of dementia Ishrat can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Ishrat desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Ishrat worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $650 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $490
• Medication and prescriptions: $75
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55

Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (six months), $490. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
