I'm caring for me, who's 84. After a heart attack Gregory can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Gregory desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Gregory worked all of his life as a seamstress, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $5,350 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $4,350
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $160
• Medication and prescriptions: $840
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
